This Footprint 1232 Nicking Chisel is a traditional stonemasons tool used to cut / split stone. It is designed to be held at right angles to the stone and hit with a hammer, much like a bricklayers bolster, except the masons nicker is much more heavy duty than a brick bolster.
The chisel is made from high quality carbon steel with a hardened and tempered blade for strength and durability. The blade is also beveled on both sides to create a cutting blade to be used at right angles.
